The principles that govern a sensitive, Principal-led advisory mandate.
Acceptance, independence and conflicts
Every prospective mandate is subject to a proportionate review of fit, independence, possible conflicts, relevant parties, sanctions considerations, integrity risk and lawful conduct. Valistros accepts a limited number of matters where the decision, operating environment and required Principal role fall within its advisory scope.
The contracting entity, decision to be supported, work, outputs, responsibilities and exclusions are agreed in writing. Website use, an introductory conversation or unsolicited information does not create an engagement. Advice remains independent and is not presented as certainty where the evidence supports scenarios, probabilities or judgment.
Integrity and lawful conduct
Valistros does not trade in access. It does not seek classified information, confidential government material or information obtained through improper inducement.
Mandates do not involve bribery, facilitation payments, sanctions evasion, improper influence, misrepresentation, unlawful political activity or information obtained in breach of law or duty. Representation before a public authority occurs only where it is lawfully agreed and any required authorization or registration is in place.
Analysis uses public, authorized and lawfully available information. A source is not asked to breach a legal, contractual or professional obligation.
Confidentiality and information handling
Initial enquiries must remain non-sensitive. Confidential, privileged, classified, personal or market-sensitive underlying material should not be sent until the parties have completed the relevant acceptance work, agreed confidentiality and selected an appropriate information channel.
Collection, access, sharing, storage and retention are limited to the purpose and requirements of the mandate. Information handling, specialist access, technology restrictions and continuity arrangements are configured according to the sensitivity and requirements of the engagement. Additional controls may be agreed contractually where appropriate. Ordinary email is not described as confidential merely because it is used for first contact.
Specialists and Principal accountability
A mandate may require jurisdictional, sector or technical specialists. Their role is defined for the matter, their access is limited to what they need and their participation is governed by appropriate confidentiality, conflicts, sanctions and information-handling obligations.
Material specialist involvement is disclosed or approved as required by the engagement. Specialist contribution does not transfer responsibility for the core advisory judgment: the Principal directs the mandate, integrates the relevant input and remains accountable for the final advisory position.
Professional and regulated-service boundaries
Valistros provides strategic interpretation and Principal counsel for client-owned decisions. It does not manage assets, arrange capital, broker or execute transactions, provide legal or tax advice, provide regulated investment advice or undertake regulated security work.
Where an engagement requires regulated or licensed work, that work must be provided by an appropriately authorized professional under clearly defined responsibility. A Valistros mandate does not promise an official outcome, privileged access or influence over a public decision-maker.
Technology and human judgment
Client-confidential information is handled under mandate-specific controls. Generative-AI use involving client-confidential material requires express authorization, and an AI-free workflow may be agreed where appropriate. Substantive advice remains subject to Principal review.
Automated systems do not make substantive advisory decisions or profile individuals for Valistros mandates. Where technology supports organization, transmission or analysis, its use remains subject to the applicable engagement terms, information controls and human review.
Due diligence availability
Prospective clients may raise relevant legal, compliance, privacy, information-handling and continuity questions during the acceptance process. Public pages state the governing principles; operational detail is disclosed only where relevant and proportionate.
Additional legal, compliance, privacy and information-security information may be made available during diligence where relevant to the proposed mandate and subject to appropriate confidentiality.
